Abstract
I must confess when starting this review that I like the spiral manuals produced by Little, Brown and Company. I find them a quick, convenient reference and have four on my bookshelf now. I reviewed this manual hoping that it would be as good as some of the others. For the most part, it is.
This book, like other spiralbound manuals, is laid out in a manner that facilitates easy reference. The material is in an outline format and key words or phrases are in bold type. The problems focus on those seen in ambulatory care. The management also is tailored to the outpatient setting. It is important in a quick-reference manual to have a complete and well-outlined index and this one is well done. The editors consist of a family practitioner, an obstetrician/gynecologist, and a family nurse practitioner. I suspect that this range of expertise accounts for the appropriate
