Figure 2. Relative community health center (CHC) utilization by households with incomes below 200% of the federal poverty level (target population) by census tract (1998). The location quotient is calculated by dividing the percentage of CHC visits from target households by the percentage of Boone County, Missouri, target households. A location quotient of greater than 1.0 indicates tract has more CHC visits compared with Boone County as a whole; less than 1.0, tract has fewer CHC visits compared with Boone County as a whole; and 1.0, use of CHC is in accordance with the tract's base population.
