Figure 1. Comparison of the effect of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride plus acetaminophen vs placebo on perceived overall sinus symptom assessment. Assessments were made using a 5-point scale (0, absent; 1, mild; 2, moderate; 3, moderately severe; and 4, severe) after each of 2 treatment doses 6 hours apart. Data represent mean ± SEM change from pretreatment baseline. Statistical significance was determined a priori to be satisfied if P <=.029 at the second interim analysis.
