Abstract

Advice to school boards: work toward regional or statewide employee contract negotiations; present an open, honest image to the public; allow the public to be heard, but reply only when a clear, official answer has been developed; hold different kinds of board meetings for different purposes (regular, business, executive, study, conference); provide members with advance, background information on issues; really listen to another; support the board decision after the vote; learn to work well together.
