Abstract

The purpose of this article is to determine if there is a best strategy to employ at the bargaining table. The many different strategies for collective bargaining are reviewed and described. Possible explanations as to why so many different strategies exist are presented. The pros and cons of the various strategies are described. Ground rules for successful win-win bargaining as well as for traditional bargaining, are presented. The author concludes that there really doesn't appear to be a best method or process for collective bargaining. The best method depends on the situation. The author describes when one method may be superior to another.
