The effects of increasing doses of the delta-opioid agonist SNC80 on convulsions and antidepressant-like effects in the forced swim test. A single dose of 32 mg/kg SNC80 produced convulsions in 83% of rats (A); however, following once daily administration of increasing SNC80 doses, convulsions were absent, but the decrease in immobility in the forced swim test (i.e., the antidepressant-like effects) remained unchanged.
