Dear Readers
Arch Fam Med. 2000;9:957.
ON A VERY SAD NOTE, this is to be the last issue of the Archives of Family Medicine, which started just 8 years ago. Finances for the journal have been a struggle for several years, and a business decision has been made to stop publishing.
As Editor, I wish to thank all of the ARCHIVES staff, who have contributed generously throughout the years. The capabilities of the ARCHIVES publishing group have always impressed me, and it is their wonderful work and creativity that gave the journal its professional appearance and content. Our annual board meetings reminded me of the number of people and multitude of talent necessary to create an excellent product.
I also wish to thank the many authors who generously contributed their work and placed their faith in the Archives of Family Medicine; the many reviewers with diverse backgrounds who lent their time and expertise; and our dedicated, loyal Editorial Board. To my fellow editors, I cannot thank you enough. And a special thanks to my editorial assistants: Tina Gibson, Barbara Le Grand, Patti Hutchings, and, recently, Andrew Marvel, all of whom have been extremely important to the everyday work it takes to make a journal happen.
It has been a tremendous privilege to work with the Archives of Family Medicine, and I will be forever grateful.
