KIM A. BATEMAN, MD, has been named Family Doctor of the Year 1992 by the American Academy of Family Physicians. A resident and native of Ephraim, Utah, Bateman has practiced medicine for 15 years in rural Utah. He is a graduate of the University of Utah School of Medicine, has a private practice in Ephraim, and is a clinical faculty member of the University of Utah.
Bateman has also founded a clinic for migrant farm workers and works with a health care provider network to coordinate the provision of health care to remote areas of rural Sanpete County in Utah. He has served on a state task force for rural health policy development and on the governor's task force on health cost containment, and is currently the vice chairman of the American Medical Association's Council on Long Range Planning and Development.
