Abstract

This study deals with consultant activity on management bargaining teams in Pennsylvania school districts. Consultants were rated according to occupation and overall performance. Personal qualities were also evaluated with six being significant in consultants with low contract settlement conflict. A comparison of districts that used consultants with those districts that did not use consultants during bargaining revealed significant results in the areas of level of conflict and length of strike. Conclusions are drawn from the findings of this study.
