PAY EQUITY AND THE LAW: WHERE WOMEN STAND IN THE WORK FORCE

Abstract

Women have and will continue to change the labor force. Though many women are found in low-paying jobs, legislation and case law offer legal guidelines to address pay equity as society moves into the twenty-first century. Employers and employees have the responsibility to become aware of women's position and status in the work force and understand gender-based wage discrimination law and its legal implications.
