Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the issue of gender bias in the grievance arbitration process. Data were analyzed from 271 public sector arbitration cases regarding arbitration outcome and sex of the arbitrant. Results indicated a potential sex bias even when controlling for the severity of the grievance. The results are discussed in terms of the current inconsistencies in the organizational and criminology literature.
