Abstract
Determining appropriate corrective action in disciplinary cases is not easy, and often disciplinary sanctions are overturned in appeals. Various practitioner models have been developed and are in use. This article reviews several practitioner models and the academic literature to identify the key assumptions, concerns, and values involved. These are integrated into a holistic model that should be useful to those who must determine corrective action for public employees. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
