THE COLLYER CASE: A LANDMARK NLRB DECISION

Abstract
The Collyer case, although in the private sector, affects any public sector relationship that comes before the National Labor Relations Board. In this case the NLRB established a new policy, that in situations similar to collyer, arbitration rather than NLRB action is the preferred method of resolution.
