Abstract
The authors analyzed the attitudes toward unionism and collective bargaining held by university and college teachers in Hawaii. They found a variety of attitudes that influenced the faculty members' choice of bargaining agent in a representation election. It is pointed out that the teachers' attitudes were associated with or affected by academic rank, age group, tenure, highest degree earned, location of appointment, area of specialization, and other factors. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
