Abstract

This article examines the motivations of AFGE members for rejecting the movement toward organizing the military initiated by the union's national headquarters. The membership apparently was concerned that it would not be as well served in the future if AFGE campaigned to bring in military members. The national headquarters had accepted the poll results showing an aversion to organizing the military as the union's stand for the present, but it is still interested in the issue.
