The International Journal of Shoulder Surgery has, since its founding in 2006, focussed on science and research on the shoulder joint. The journal enters its 10th year of publication in 2016, and will broaden its scope to include techniques and research pertaining to the entire upper limb. A new Editorial Board of eminent surgeons will help to provide a platform for emerging technologies and exciting research in the field of shoulder, elbow and wrist pathologies.
Gregory I Bain MBBS, FRACS, FA(Ortho), PhD, New Associate Editor
Gregory Bain joins the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery in January 2016 as an Associate Editor. Greg completed his Orthopaedic Surgery training in Adelaide in 1993, and then a clinical fellowship Upper Limb Surgery in Canada for 12 months. Since then he has practiced exclusively Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgery in Adelaide, South Australia. He has an active interest in research involving the upper limb including clinical anatomy, biomechanics, advanced arthroscopic techniques, anatomical based reconstructive procedures and arthroplasty. Greg is a former President of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia. He currently serves as the Chairman of Elbow, Wrist and Hand Committee, ISAKOS, and is the President Elect of Asian Pacific Wrist Association, ISSPORTH. Greg is a member of the Editorial Board of several journals (Journal of Wrist Surgery, Journal of ISAKOS, Journal of Techniques of Hand and Upper limb Surgery), and has been on the advisory board of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery since its founding.
Greg has been a recipient of several prestigious awards over the years. In 2009, he was awarded the Australian Orthopaedic Association Research Award for "producing outstanding Orthopaedic research that has international recognition, and research contributing to the orthopaedic community and the community generally". His special areas of interest include Rotator Cuff tears, Shoulder Anatomy, distal biceps tendon injuries, carpal instability, and elbow instability.

Lennard Funk, BSc. Msc. FRCS(Tr&Orth), FFSEM(UK), New Associate Editor
Lennard Funk joins the editorial board of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery in January 2016 as an Associate Editor. Len completed his Orthopaedic surgery training in 2001, and thereafter underwent fellowship training in shoulder surgery at the Reading Shoulder Unit (Mr. SA Copeland and Mr O Levy) . He currently works as part of a large multidisciplinary upper limb unit at Wrightington Hospital in the UK, where his interests include complex shoulder instability, athletic injuries, surface replacement arthroplasty and rotator cuff disease. Len routinely treats elite and professional athletes, working with many sports organisations and clubs.
Len is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Salford, where he is the clinical lead for the Postgraduate Orthopaedic Programme. He is also involved in many research projects, published widely and lectures internationally. Len established and runs Shoulderdoc.co.uk and is passionate about patient information and education, as well as providing the best quality of care through a multidisciplinary team. The International Journal of Shoulder Surgery welcomes Lennard Funk to the new Editorial Board.

Richard S. Page joins the editorial board of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery in January 2016 as an Associate Editor.
Richard is St John of God and Barwon Health Professor of Orthopaedics at Deakin University and Director of Orthopaedics at University Hospital Geelong and clinically active as an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, upper limb and hand surgery. He is also Director of the Barwon Orthopaedic Research Unit (BORU), and is a Member of the Specialist Reserve of the Royal Australian Navy, with numerous overseas and operational deployments. He is past Chair of the Younger Fellows Committee of the Royal Australasian College Of Surgeons, and past Secretary and current executive member of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia. He is a reviewer for several journals and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Wrist Surgery. HIs research interests include outcomes of shoulder conditions and shoulder arthroplasty, as well as biomaterials assessment and epidemiology of upper limb conditions.
Richard was awarded a Zimmer Overseas Traveling Fellowship in 2000, the H J Windsor Prize In Orthopaedic Research by the Royal College Of Surgeons Of England in 2001 and was the European Traveling Fellow of The Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia and recipient of a Visiting Professorship award from the Association Of Academic Surgeons Of America in 2009. He was a 2013 ASEAN Travelling Fellow for the Australian Orthopaedic Association, to foster professional orthopaedic relationships with ASEAN nations. We welcome Richard Page to the Editorial board of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery.
