Nomenclatural History
The species Deinococcus ficus was originally described and validly published by Lai et al. 2006. Kämpfer published an emended description of this species in 2009. A subsequent emendation was proposed by García-López et al. in 2019. Kämpfer established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Shashidhar and Bandekar 2006 in 2009.
