The species Nocardiopsis baichengensis was originally described and validly published by Li et al. 2006. Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Al-Tai and Ruan 1994 emend. Zhang et al. 2020 in 2018.

Zhang et al. 2020 confirm the heterotypic synonym earlier published by Nouioui et al. 2018.
