Nomenclatural History

The species Clostridium alkalicellulosi was originally described by Zhilina et al. 2005. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 109 in 2006. Upon validation, this name was corrected from Clostridium alkalicellum (sic) to Clostridium alkalicellulosi . In 2013, Yutin and Galperin established Clostridium alkalicellulosi as the basonym of
Ruminiclostridium alkalicellulosi (Zhilina et al. 2006) Yutin and Galperin 2013
. In 2018, Zhang et al. established Clostridium alkalicellulosi as the basonym of
Hungateiclostridium alkalicellulosi (Zhilina et al. 2006) Zhang et al. 2018
. In 2019, Tindall established Clostridium alkalicellulosi as the basonym of
Acetivibrio alkalicellulosi (Zhilina et al. 2006) Tindall 2019
