The species Pelotomaculum isophthalicicum was originally described by Qiu et al. 2006. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 111 in 2006. Upon validation, this name was corrected from Pelotomaculum isophthalicum (sic) to Pelotomaculum isophthalicicum .
