Nomenclatural History

The genus Frondicola was originally proposed and validly published by Zhang et al. 2007. Greene et al. replaced this illegitimate name with
Frondihabitans Greene et al. 2009 emend. Cardinale et al. 2011
in 2009.
Frondicola is a later homonym of the fungal genus Frondicola (Hyde 1992) and is thus illegitimate as a bacterial genus name.
