Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Halomethanococcus was originally proposed by Yu and Kawamura 1987. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 26 in 1988. Boone established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Methanohalophilus Paterek and Smith 1988 emend. Katayama et al. 2014
in 2001.
