Nomenclatural History
The species Acidovorax avenae was originally described and validly published by Willems et al. 1992. Schaad et al. published an emended description of this species in 2008. Willems et al. formed this name in 1992 by placing the species Manns 1909 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Willems et al. 1990 emend. Willems et al. 1992. Schaad et al. elevated this species to the rank of subspecies to form the name (Manns 1909) Willems et al. 1992 in 2008.
