Nomenclatural History
The species Carboxydothermus ferrireducens was originally described and validly published by Slobodkin et al. 2006. Slobodkin et al. formed this name in 2006 by placing the species Slobodkin et al. 1997 into the genus Svetlichny et al. 1991 emend. Novikov et al. 2011.
