Nomenclatural History
The species Cystobacter minus was originally described by McCurdy 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. corrected this name from (sic) to . In 2015, Lang et al. established as the basonym of (Krzemieniewska and Krzemieniewski 1926) Lang et al. 2015 .

This name contravenes the ICNP because the specific epithet ("minus", neuter) does not agree with the gender of the generic epithet ("Cystobacter", masculine).
