Nomenclatural History
The species Lactobacillus curvatus was originally described by Abo-Elnaga and Kandler 1965. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Klein et al. published an emended description of this species in 1996. In 1996, Torriani et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Troili-Petersson 1903) Torriani et al. 1996 . In 2020, Zheng et al. established as the basonym of (Troili-Petersson 1903) Zheng et al. 2020 .
