Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudoalteromonas haloplanktis was originally described and validly published by Gauthier et al. 1995. Ivanova et al. published an emended description of this species in 2001. In 1995, Gauthier et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (ZoBell and Upham 1944) Gauthier et al. 1995 . Gauthier et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species (ZoBell and Upham 1944) Reichelt and Baumann 1973 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Gauthier et al. 1995 emend. Beurmann et al. 2017.
