Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudomonas avenae was originally described by Manns 1909. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Pavarino 1911) Savulescu 1947 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1991. Hu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Lee et al. 1925) Stapp 1928 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1991. In 1991, Hu et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Manns 1991 . In 1992, Willems et al. established as the basonym of (Manns 1909) Willems et al. 1992 emend. Schaad et al. 2008 .
