Nomenclatural History
The species Saccharothrix aerocolonigenes was originally described by Shinobu and Kawato 1960. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1986 the name was revived and validly published by Labeda. In 1996, List Editor reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Labeda 1986 . In 2001, Labeda et al. established as the basonym of (Labeda 1986) Labeda et al. 2001 .
