The species Streptomyces albosporeus was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1963, Okami et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Krainsky 1914) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) .
