Nomenclatural History
The species Streptoverticillium fervens was originally described by Locci et al. 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1980, Skerman et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (de Boer et al. 1960) Locci et al. 1969 emend. Baldacci and Locci 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) . established as an earlier homotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium fervens (de Boer et al. 1960) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017.
