Nomenclatural History
The species Thermoanaerobacter brockii was originally described and validly published by Lee et al. 1993. Cayol et al. published an emended description of this species in 1995. Lee et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species Zeikus et al. 1983 into the genus Wiegel and Ljungdahl 1982 emend. Lee et al. 2007. In 1995, Cayol et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Zeikus et al. 1983) Lee et al. 1993 .
