Nomenclatural History
The species Xanthomonas fuscans was originally described by Schaad et al. 2006. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 115 in 2007. In 2006, Schaad et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Schaad et al. 2007 . Ah-You et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (ex Hasse 1915) Gabriel et al. 1989 emend. Constantin et al. 2016 in 2009.
