Nomenclatural History

The genus Desulfovermiculus was originally proposed by Belyakova et al. 2006. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 116 in 2007. Galushko and Kuever published an emended description of this genus in 2015.
Galushko and Kuever 2019 cited an incorrect 16S accession in their emendation.
