Nomenclatural History
The species Tsukamurella spongiae was originally described and validly published by Olson et al. 2007. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Teng et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Yassin et al. 1996 emend. Teng et al. 2016 in 2016.
