Nomenclatural History
The species Novispirillum itersonii was originally described and validly published by Yoon et al. 2007. In 2007, Yoon et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Giesberger 1936) Yoon et al. 2007 . Yoon et al. formed this name in 2007 by placing the species (Giesberger 1936) Hylemon et al. 1973 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Yoon et al. 2007.
