Nomenclatural History
The species Insolitispirillum peregrinum was originally described and validly published by Yoon et al. 2007. In 2007, Yoon et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Terasaki 1973) Yoon et al. 2007 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 . In 2007, Yoon et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Pretorius 1963) Yoon et al. 2007 . Yoon et al. formed this name in 2007 by placing the species (Pretorius 1963) Hylemon et al. 1973 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Yoon et al. 2007.
