Nomenclatural History
The species Kitasatosporia setae was originally described by Ōmura et al. 1982. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 11 in 1983. Zhang et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Ōmura et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 1992, Wellington et al. established as the basonym of (Ōmura et al. 1983) Wellington et al. 1992 .
