Nomenclatural History	The species Gordonia rubropertinctus was originally described by Stackebrandt et al. 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 30 in 1989. Euzéby corrected this name from Gordonia rubropertinctus (sic) to Gordonia rubripertincta . Stackebrandt et al. corrected this name from Gordona rubropertinctus (sic) to Gordonia rubropertinctus . Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Stackebrandt et al. formed this name in 1988 by placing the species Rhodococcus rubropertinctus (Hefferan 1904) Tsukamura 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Gordona (sic) (ex Tsukamura 1971) Stackebrandt et al. 1989Gordonia corrig. (ex Tsukamura 1971) Stackebrandt et al. 1989.
