Nomenclatural History
The genus Frondihabitans was originally proposed and validly published by Greene et al. 2009. Lee published an emended description of this genus in 2010. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Cardinale et al. in 2011. This name replaces the name Zhang et al. 2007 .

Frondihabitans replaces the illegitimate name Frondicola.
