The species Nocardiopsis albus was originally described and validly published by Grund and Kroppenstedt 1990. Yassin et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 1990, Grund and Kroppenstedt reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form corrig. Grund and Kroppenstedt 1990 .
