Nomenclatural History	The species Nautella italica was originally described and validly published by Vandecandelaere et al. 2009. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. In 2018, Wirth and Whitman established Nautella italica as the basonym of Phaeobacter italicus (Vandecandelaere et al. 2009) Wirth and Whitman 2018 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
