Nomenclatural History	The species Acidovorax citrulli was originally described by Schaad et al. 2008. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 127 in 2009. Schaad et al. elevated the subspecies Acidovorax avenae citrulli (Schaad et al. 1978) Willems et al. 1992 to the rank of species to form this name in 2008.
