Nomenclatural History
The species Marinoscillum furvescens was originally described by Lewin 1969. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2009 the name was revived and validly published by Seo et al.. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019.
