The genus Enterorhabdus was originally proposed and validly published by Clavel et al. 2009. Clavel et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2010. Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Maruo et al. 2008 emend. Stoll et al. 2021 in 2018.
