Nomenclatural History
The species Butyricimonas virosa was originally described and validly published by Sakamoto et al. 2009. Sakamoto et al. published an emended description of this species in 2014. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Hahnke et al. in 2016 and Le Roy et al. in 2019.
