Nomenclatural History
The genus Hoyosella was originally proposed and validly published by Jurado et al. 2009. Hamada et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2016. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Li et al. in 2016. Wang et al. transferred the members of Wang et al. 2010 into this genus in 2010.
