Nomenclatural History
The species Planomicrobium stackebrandtii was originally described and validly published by Jung et al. 2009. Jung et al. formed this name in 2009 by placing the species Mayilraj et al. 2005 into the genus Yoon et al. 2001.

Gupta and Patel 2019 effectively reverse the placement of this species into Planomicrobium by Jung et al. 2009.
