Nomenclatural History
|
The family Beggiatoaceae was originally proposed by Migula 1894. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Leadbetter transferred the members of
Vitreoscillaceae Pringsheim 1949 (Approved Lists 1980)
into this family in 1974. Garrity et al. transferred the members of this family into
Thiotrichaceae Garrity et al. 2005 emend. Boden and Scott 2018
in 2005.
