Nomenclatural History
The species Bacteroides sartorii was originally described by Clavel et al. 2010. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 134 in 2010. Sakamoto and Ohkuma published an emended description of this species in 2012. Sakamoto and Ohkuma established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Kitahara et al. 2011 in 2012. In 2019, García-López et al. established as the basonym of (Clavel et al. 2010) García-López et al. 2020 .
